Visitor Service

Metro Maryland Ostomy Association (MMOA) trains volunteer visitors to help patients with, or who are preparing for, ostomy surgery. Every effort is made to match a visitor to the patient by type of surgery, sex and age.

This visit by an experienced ostomate is to reassure the new ostomate that it is possible to live successfully with an ostomy and give the patient an opportunity to have her/his questions answered.

Visits can occur in the hospital, at home, by phone or at a monthly meeting.
