Visitor Service

 

Metro Maryland Ostomy Association (MMOA) educates volunteer visitors to help patients with, or who are preparing for, ostomy surgery. Every effort is made to match a visitor to the patient by type of surgery, age, and gender.

A visit by an experienced ostomate is to reassure the new ostomate that it is possible to live successfully with an ostomy and give the patient an opportunity to have his/her questions answered. Visits can occur in the hospital, at home, by phone or at one of our monthly meetings.
